3 Nights in Kolkata Heritage

You will arrive right in the centre of Kolkata and check into a delightful heritage hotel, of which there are many in the Esplanade or Dalhousie area, where colonial-era Kolkata still resonates. After checking in, you will enjoy a guided walking tour, where you will visit the Writer's Building, Raj Bhavan, St. John's Church, and the Grand GPO, which housed the power of the empire in India.

As the sun starts to fade, enjoy a Ganga River cruise at Prinsep Ghat and relax with the tunes of Rabindra Sangeet. With a river breeze and twilight over the Kolkata skyline, this will be one evening you will not forget!

Your first stop is the Indian Museum, which is an essential landmark that traces India’s history through rare artifacts, art, and natural history exhibits! After that, enjoy a stroll down College Street with a classic coffee break at the legendary Indian Coffee House.

In the afternoon, you will head to the Marble Palace (which is by appointment only) and then the regal Sovabazar Rajbari, where the zamindari magnificence of a bygone age still resonates. As evening comes, you’ll attend a Bonedi Bari aarti ritual, as authentic a spiritual experience as you will have, all rounded off by Traditional Bengali thali dinner consisting of the classics of Basanti pulao, Kosha mangsho, Begun bhaja, Mishti doi.

On the third day, our first destination will be Kumartuli, where artisans are busily making the idols of devi Durga. You'll get to witness their craftsmanship and skill up close. Once the group finishes breakfast, you'll depart to visit the revered Kalighat Temple - one of the 51 Shakti Pithas.

Ride one of Kolkata’s iconic trams and travel through the city’s old neighbourhoods. Cross the vast open greens of the Maidan and witness how life stops here for some quiet moments. This will be an ideal place for a chai break.

After the short break, move ahead to visit Jorasanko Thakurbari. Here you will get a glimpse into the life of Rabindranath Tagore, Bengal’s one of the most revered poets.
