3 Nights in Darjeeling – Queen of the Hills

You will be picked up from NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. A scenic three-hour drive will take you uphill through tea gardens, cool pine forests, and winding mountain roads. Arriving in Darjeeling, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the evening to relax.

If you're keen, take a meandering stroll along Mall Road, check out the local stalls, pick up some hot Momo or Thukpa, and just enjoy being in the mountains and the slower pace of life. You will wrap up your first night with a delicious local dinner.

Begin your day with an early wakeup call for one of the best experiences in the Himalayas - the sunrise from Tiger Hill, when the illuminating sunlight transforms the peaks of Kanchenjunga into a golden hue. On the way back down, stop at Batasia Loop for scenic views, then explore the historic Ghoom Monastery nearby.

Later in the day, take the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Toy Train for a journey through time and tea gardens. In the afternoon, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, as well as its attached zoo, which is home to two of the rarest high-altitude animals in the world - Snow leopards and Red pandas.

Overnight in Kolkata.

After breakfast, you will journey to the Happy Valley Tea Estate, where you will get to wander through rows of tea bushes and learn how Darjeeling's famed tea is grown from leaf to cup.

The rest of the day will be optional visits. You can go to the Peace Pagoda for contemplation, wander through landscaped beauty at the Rock Garden, or see local artists at the Tibetan Refugee Centre. Be sure not to miss the sunset from Observatory Hill, a serene spot nestled in myth and mountain mist.

On your last day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and consider doing some last-minute shopping to take home some tea, woollens, or handmade trinkets. Once you have checked out, our team will take you back to NJP or Bagdogra for your trip home.
