Frequently asked questions

Indian citizens don't need a visa for Bhutan but must obtain an entry permit. The Department of Immigration issues it after verifying the traveler's valid documents, allowing entry to the country.

For road travel to Bhutan, a permit is required and must be presented at checkpoints, valid for a week. Indians staying beyond seven days need to personally extend the permit's validity at the Thimphu immigration office.

Bhutan is super safe with rare crime. No traffic lights, just friendly wardens. Tobacco, hunting, and fishing (except catch and release) are illegal. It's a unique and very peaceful destination.
